Terms & Conditions

1. Definitions

  • “Company” means SJN Handyman Services.

  • “Client” means the person or entity booking or receiving services.

  • “Services” means any on-demand repair, maintenance, installation, or handyman work provided by the Company.

  • “Agreement” means these Terms & Conditions, together with any booking confirmation, invoice, or contract.

2. Booking & Service Availability

  • Services are provided on an on-demand basis, subject to availability of personnel.

  • Bookings may be made via [app/website/phone, depending on your setup].

  • The Company does not guarantee immediate availability and reserves the right to refuse or reschedule any request.

3. Pricing & Payment

  • Rates for on-demand services are charged per hour or per project, as displayed at the time of booking.

  • Minimum call-out fees may apply.

  • Materials, parts, and equipment are charged separately unless otherwise stated.

  • Payment is due upon completion of the service, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • The Company may request a deposit or pre-authorization on a valid payment method before dispatching a handyman.

4. Client Responsibilities

  • The Client must ensure safe access to the property and provide accurate service details when booking.

  • The Client must be present at the property during the scheduled service window unless otherwise agreed.

  • The Client must disclose any known risks (e.g., electrical hazards, gas leaks, structural issues, asbestos).

5. Company Responsibilities

  • The Company will perform services with reasonable care, skill, and in compliance with applicable regulations.

  • The Company may refuse to perform work it deems unsafe, unlawful, or beyond its expertise.

  • Where unforeseen issues are discovered, the Company will notify the Client before proceeding with additional work or charges.

6. Cancellations & No-Shows

  • The Client must provide at least 2 hours’ notice for cancellation of on-demand bookings.

  • Cancellations made with insufficient notice may incur a cancellation fee equal to the call-out charge.

  • If the Client is not present at the scheduled time and access is not possible, the booking will be treated as a no-show and subject to a full call-out charge.

7. Materials & Warranties

  • Materials supplied by the Company are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty only.

  • No warranty is provided for materials supplied by the Client.

  • Workmanship is guaranteed for [e.g., 30 days / 90 days], excluding emergency temporary repairs.

8. Liability

  • The Company is not liable for:

    • Pre-existing faults or damage at the property.

    • Consequential, indirect, or economic loss resulting from the Services.

    • Delays caused by factors outside the Company’s control (traffic, weather, supply shortages).

  • The Company’s liability is limited to the value of the Services provided under the booking.

9. Insurance

  • The Company maintains appropriate insurance coverage, including public liability insurance, and will provide details upon request.

10. Termination

  • Either party may terminate the Agreement for material breach.

  • The Client is responsible for payment of all completed work and incurred material costs up to the date of termination.

11. Governing Law

  • These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of [insert jurisdiction, e.g., England & Wales / State of X].

12. Entire Agreement

  • This document, along with the booking confirmation, constitutes the entire agreement between the Client and the Company.
